About these terms

These terms apply to every quote, invoice and service from Site Joy ("we", "us"). By accepting a quote, paying a deposit or signing up for a monthly plan, you ("the client") agree to them. If your quote says something different, the quote wins for that project.

These terms also cover your use of this website.

Quotes and fixed prices

• Every project starts with a written quote listing what is included and one fixed price.
• Quotes are valid for 30 days.
• All prices are in South African Rand. Your quote shows whether VAT applies.
• Work that is not in the quote is quoted separately before we do it. We never add charges without your approval.

Payment

Pay once

• 50% deposit to start, and 50% before the website goes live.
• Invoices are payable within 7 days.

Pay monthly

• A once-off setup fee to start, then a monthly fee by debit order or card.
• Monthly plans run for a minimum of 12 months, then continue month to month. You can cancel after the minimum term with 30 days' written notice.
• If you cancel during the minimum term, the remaining months up to 12 are payable, or you can buy the site out (see Ownership).

If a payment is more than 14 days late, we may pause work, care services or hosting until the account is up to date. We will always warn you first.

What is included and changes

• Each plan includes the pages and features listed on our pricing page and in your quote.
• Two rounds of design changes are included. Further changes are billed at R350 an hour, and we tell you the cost before we start.
• Adding pages or features after the design is approved is quoted as extra work.

Your content

• You provide your logo, photos, text and business details, unless your plan includes copywriting.
• Please send your content within 30 days of the deposit. If it is late, we may launch with placeholder text or bill the copywriting add-on, after checking with you.
• You confirm that you have the right to use everything you send us, and you are responsible for the claims you make on your website.
• We use licensed or free stock images where needed.

Timelines

Your quote includes an estimated launch date. A Basic website usually goes live 7 to 10 working days after we have all your content; larger sites and online stores take 3 to 6 weeks. Delays in content, feedback or payment move the date.

Ownership

• Your domain name is always registered in your name, or moved to your name.
• Pay once: the website and its content are yours once the final payment is made.
• Pay monthly: the website becomes yours after 24 monthly payments. You can buy it out earlier for the plan's once-off price minus 50% of the monthly fees you have paid.
• We may show your website in our portfolio unless you ask us not to.

Care plans and hosting

• Care plans cover the updates, backups, security and edit hours listed for that plan. Unused edit hours do not roll over.
• We keep backups and fix problems caused by our updates at no extra cost.
• Problems caused by changes made by you or someone else, or by third-party services, are billed at R350 an hour.

Our guarantees

Love it or don't pay the rest

If you don't love the final design, tell us in writing within 7 days of seeing it, after the included change rounds. You won't pay the final 50%, and the work stays with us.

On Google in 14 days

We set up your Google Business Profile within 14 days of receiving your details. If it is not live in that time because of us, your next monthly fee is free. Google decides on verification, so delays caused by Google's checks or missing details are not covered.

Ads and third-party services

• Ad spend for Google, Facebook or Instagram is paid by you, directly to the platform, and is separate from our management fee.
• We cannot guarantee rankings, ad results or how Google, Meta, payment providers or other third parties behave, but we follow their rules and best practices and report your results every month.

Limits of liability

We work carefully, but to the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect losses such as lost profits. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act where it applies.

Price changes

We review our prices once a year in January. Monthly clients keep their price for their first 12 months, and we give 30 days' notice of any change after that.

Using this website

The content and design of this website belong to Site Joy. You may not copy them without permission. Links to other websites are for convenience; we are not responsible for their content.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of South Africa. If something goes wrong, please talk to us first. We will try to resolve it within 14 days. If we can't, either of us may take it to a court with jurisdiction in Gauteng.
